A passion for old things, passed down through generations.
Devon Vintage Interiors started, as most good things do, around a kitchen table. In 2014, after years of collecting for our own home, friends and neighbours began asking where we found our pieces. The answer was always the same: early mornings at auction houses, muddy boots at car boot sales, and the occasional lucky find at a farmhouse clearance.
What began as a weekend hobby became a proper business when we realised the thrill of the hunt was matched only by the satisfaction of seeing a neglected piece find the right home. We operate from a converted barn on the edge of Dartmoor, where stock rotates weekly as new finds come in and old favourites head off to buyers across the country.
We remain a two-person operation. That means every listing is written by someone who has held the piece, examined it under natural light, and decided it's worth your attention.
Buying vintage is one of the simplest ways to reduce household waste. A well-made sideboard from 1920 has already lasted a century — it will happily last another.
We gravitate toward pieces that show the hand of their maker: dovetail joints, hand-blown glass, hand-painted ceramics. Quality you can feel.
Every item carries a history. We research provenance where possible and share what we know, because objects with stories bring more meaning to a space.
